The court of the Borboni di Napoli built the legend of discreet luxury and refinement that made Italy famous first throughout Europe, and then worldwide. Thanks to breathtaking natural beauty, past and present meet: near Europe’s most famous archaeological sites, Pompeii and Herculaneum, lies Italy’s first railway line, leading to delightful baroque villas that over the centuries have filled the tales of guests who, after visiting the Kingdom of Naples, declared there was no longer any valid reason to live, having seen and touched the pure beauty.
San Leucio silks, Torre del Greco cameos and corals, and Capodimonte porcelain have filled the halls of royal palaces across Europe and now enrich the collections of museums and private collections.
For the first time, Ercolano, the beating heart of Neapolitan culture, will host a Baroque reenactment festival. The organizers, in a spirit of excellence, have turned to highly experienced Italian companies to create an unprecedented event: bringing Neapolitan culture from the second half of the 18th century back to life. Music, dancing, fine food, and excellent wine will be featured, and small salons will recreate small moments of Baroque life: the ladies’ dressing table, a jeweler explaining precious and traditional techniques, and board games.
On April 18th, guests of the Dukes of Cascalenda, at the Campolieto Villa, a Vanvitellian creation whose name captures his spirit, we will welcome the royals and have the opportunity to share this wonderful experience with them, all while wearing a costume that follows the fashions of the second half of the 18th century.
You can then use one of Francesco’s wonderful creations for an event that will make history in reenactments, dusting off your Venetian Carnival wardrobe or having one made to make this experience unforgettable!
